In this short research reflection assignment I will be answering some questions about a film called Where to Invade Next, by Michael Moore. I watched this film in class. The film was interesting because Michael Moore went to different countries exploring how others in different countries live. He asked different questions about how long was their paid vacations, about how they pay for their college and a lot of other different things. The film Where to Invade Next had a lot of information about different countries and how they live so much better than America. Also here is some information of My Life Choice Memoir. I will be answering the questions about the film of Where to Invade Next.
I worked with my professor and classmates at school when I started with this research paper. First me, my classmates and Professor watched the film of Where to Invade Next. Then we started writing the research papers at home about the film. Yes it a good approach because after we watched the film we had questions about the film and our Professor was there to answer them and of course he knew all about the film.
The genre mode I'm using is Reflective Writing and exposition mode.
I started to write this project at home. Yes it was a good approach because I was very peaceful and on my own time.
I was told by my Professor to write about this chosen topic. Yes it was a good choice to write about this topic of the film Where to Invade Next because it showed how Americans are living differently from other countries and hopefully from the showing of this film can help make a lot of better changes in America.
Yes I have a lot of “if only’s” but i’m going to mention only two. That “if only” is if all the schools is good ratings and it’s free.
I will revise my argument by stating that Americans should have the right to live better like the other countries because the adults and children work hard in this country whether it’s going to school working or raising a family. The government should have incentives and more resources for us US citizens.

In this short Annotated Bibliography I added two sources from two articles. One article is about Childhood Obesity and Schools and the second article is about INTENSIVE LEARNING WITH A HEALTHY DOSE OF SUMMERTIME FUN.
Topic: Obesity in Children at Public Schools Research Question: Which of the Children in Private Schools or Public Schools is most likely to be Obese? Argument: Children in Public Schools are most likely to be Obese because of the “eligibility for free or reduced lunch”. Topic: Extended School Year Program of HMS School for Children with Cerebral Palsy in Philadelphia Pa. Research: Should the School be Extended for Children with Cerebral Palsy? Argument: Yes the Schools should be Extended for Children with Cerebral Palsy because it "helps the Children be Independent and more Sociable". In this short research assignment of Defining Terms with my class group, we will be defining terms for Democracy, Capitalism, Socialism, Fascism, Social Oppressive “isms” and Social Institutions. I co-authored these definitions with my group members: David Miller, Julia Thornton and Kacie Montano.
Democracy- Everyone equals everyone. People have a say in voting, decisions, and more. The people vote and the majority wins. Capitalism- More wealthy and higher leveled individuals have more control in government and decision making. Socialism- People do not have that much of a say, they vote on congressmen and state elected officials to decide what is best for the state. Fascism- Led by a dictator. One person makes all decisions. A government that has absolute power. They want to eliminate media, and think that violence is necessary. Social oppressive “isms”- When groups of people are pushed and pressed down by society. Some examples are racism, sexism and sizeism. Social institutions- People that come together from a common belief to try and push their views accepted into society. They try to influence other people’s behaviors and set a certain expectation for them. Some examples are family, church, employment, school, prison systems, and media. I'm going to write a short annotated bibliography of at least four sources about Where to InvadeNext by Michael Moore 2015 .
In this short documentry I will select three argumentive topics from Where to Invade Next and here is a summary I spoke about in Where to Invade Next.
In this documentary, Where to Invade Next Michel Moore and group of people goes to different countries to show the difference on how better they live than America. When the film first started I saw some events that really happened several years ago in America. This film also had Former President Bush and Former President Obama speaking about some issues.
When Mr. Moore was interviewing Italy about their employment he was told that their is eight weeks of vacation in Italy. If you don’t use your holidays in the year it will be transferred to the next year. You can use it. You have five months of maternity leave after you have your baby. You have fifteen days of celebrating when you get married. Italians stated on this film that Italians don’t really get sick and They also stated they live longer than Americans. The CEO of the factory sister said that it is nice to work with smiling people. Then Mr. Moore stated that Americans work more than Italians. Mr. Moore interviewed France next. In France he went to a three or a four star kitchen it was in a school cafeteria. The French love cheese Mr. Moore was told. They had a lot of cheese at the school. In France they have a hour to eat. It is actually considered class time. They have to report to the mayor about school lunch. The chef serves their food. Mr.Moore was sitting at the table with kids speaking with them and asking them to taste a soda. One of the chefs said he never ate a cheeseburger. French schools have free health care and the eat very healthier foods than Americans. French are poorer than Americans and have a lot of good things going on. Mr. Moore hopped on the train to interview Finland. Finland have some sports of cell phone throwing. In this film Finland is #1 in education. They stated that they don’t get homework and that is why they is #1 in education. They have twenty hour a week in school. They have less hours in school then the whole entire western world. They don’t teach poets because they said that’s not going to teach them when they get older to get a job. It is illegal for school to charge students for school. The principle was stating that she want the children to play. The interviewer Slovenia Student go to Universities for free. They cut w out of the alphabet. The government wanted to make students pay for colleges but the students protested and they don’t have to pay. The Mr. Moore asked for a interview with the president. He ordered his crew out the room. The President of Finland said all colleges should be free. Mr. Moore next stop was Germany. Germany make pencils. They have pencil factories that have windows. The interview met with the middle class. He asked who have a second or third job. No one had a second or third job. Any stressed out German can get their doctor to write them a letter to get a Spa treatment. 5159 minutes. The overall main idea of the film was that Mr. Moore and his group wanted to point out how badly Americans are living compared to other countries and how we do so much more, far as working and going to school. In this short video it showed a lot of different ways to write and styles of Reflective Writing. It also showed in this short video that the words why, how and so what is helpful in reflective writing. The video was enjoyable. Also in this blog I will be answering some questions about draft #1 of My life Choice Memoir, This Story is about Me and My family.
My Life Choice Memoir was about me and my family on how I grew up with my family, something’s we did as we grew up and a few sad events in our life. I worked with my professor and classmates when I composed this memoir. It was peaceful no noise and I had a nice amount of time to start my Memoir. It was nice that everyone in the class was writing they memoir so everyone was on the same page. No one interrupted the class while we were writing, only when our time was up. Yes it was a good approach to write about my family because it give me sometime to vent out the sadness of this situation. We also had a few fun times I spoke about. It also give me time to think back in my life on how I became the person that I am today. As I’m looking back about my life I noticed I learned a lot and I notice I’m a good person.
The rhetorical mode and genre I’m using is a mostly narrative mode and it is non fiction. These are things that happened in my life that are true.
I started writing My Life Choice Memoir (project) on October 5, 2017. Yes it was a good approach because it made me think of my pass when I was younger and at the time I started writing with my professor and classmates it was an enjoyable time.
We all was writing our Life Choice Memoir in class together. It was good choice to start it there because if we had any question our professor was there to help as usual. We also had a nice amount of time with no one rushing us.
I chose to write about my topic because it was sad and it was about me and my family. It also brought back some old memories and feelings. Yes it was a good choice because after writing about some of my events with my family I went to visit them and we spoke about some of our old times. It was good. We laughed at some things, made jokes and we just enjoyed ourselves.
It made me feel good to say during, after or since because it showed me how much we all grew up. It also is showing me what we is working on for our future as a family. We our trying to always spend time together. A lot of events like birthday parties, wedding parties, just regular going out parties, or just socializing. Me and my family even have a text group. When we want to say an event or just one to make each other laugh all we have to do is put it in our family group text.
I would probably revise my narrative by maybe added some up to date information I’m not sure yet. |
